MANUEL LEAL ANGARITA

-Lawyer of the Universidad del Rosario (1970), specialized in Civil Law (Universidad Nacional de Colombia, 1971), Tax Law (Universidad del Rosario, 1974) and Financial Management (Universidad de los Andes, 1976).

Professional experience:

-Experience in Corporate, Commercial, Air Transport and Financial Law matters.

-Has practiced law since 1974.

-Arbitrator of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce in Civil and Commercial matters.

-Current UNIDROIT correspondent in Colombia.

-President of the Colombian Air Transport Association (ATAC) since 1987.

-Regional manager and president of financial institutions in Colombia and Ecuador.

-Governor (a.i.) and Treasury Secretary of the State of Cundinamarca, Secretary General to the Ministry of Economic Development (Today, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism).

-Member of boards of directors of public and private sector corporations, financial institutions, insurance companies, industrial and services corporations and binational chambers of commerce.

-Representative in Colombia of L’Européenne de Banque (former Banque Rothschild de Paris).

-Professor of Commercial Law at the Universidad de los Andes, School of Law and Transportation Law at the Universidad Externado de Colombia School of Law postgraduate program in several occasions.

-Has been member of the Colombian delegation for bilateral and multilateral aero-commercial negotiations; Delegate of Colombia before the ICAO Worldwide Air Transport conferences; Representative of the Colombian Government in the discussions for the UNIDROIT Convention on International Finance Leasing and participated in the discussions of the Draft of the Model Law on Leasing, approved by UNIDROIT in November 2008.

Professional experience:

-13 years of experience in Commercial, Administrative and Telecommunications Law both as external legal counselor, corporate counselor and high management officer. In 2005, La Nota Económica, a national publication specialized in economics and corporate management, recognized her as one of the 500 most relevant executives in Colombia.
